Charizard is one of the most recognized Pokemon in the franchise. In the main story, Charmander evolves into Charmeleon and then into Charizard, a Fire/Flying dragon-like Pokemon associated with power, flight, and late-game battles. That story presence is a big reason its cards stay front-of-mind for players and collectors.
Why collectors keep asking for it
Ask at any counter and Charizard comes up early. Iconic art, long print history across English and Japanese sets, and chase variants (especially special finishes and graded copies) keep demand high. Demand is not the same as a guaranteed investment. Condition, authenticity, and the specific print matter more than the name alone.
What to look at before you buy
Check the set and card number, the finish, centering, surface wear, and whether the card matches known authentic prints for that release.
